The 15 watt MG15FX consists of an eight inch speaker, four switchable channels, and a three-band EQ that lets you form your tone. Marshall’s unique, groundbreaking FDD circuitry offers the MG4 Series the unbelievable depth of sound and special really feel of their legendary, all-tube amps. It does this by emulating the way an all-tube energy amp interacts with the speaker(s) it is driving. The effortless to use panel controls consist of gain, followed by a 3-band EQ, volume and Master Volume. On the MG15FX guitar amp combo, the 4 channels are Clean, Crunch, OD1 and OD2. Switching seamlessly among channels is simple with the push button controls. Plus the amp features two modes: Preset and Manual.
I bought this for my son to practice on. It sounds quite good and sounds like a Marshall but it’s relatively noisy – even on the clean setting. Also, I feel it really is outclassed by the new amps from Line-six and Fender – specifically the Mustang I. I will be exchanging his for the Mustang I which sound cleaner, can sound like a modest tube amp, a Marshall and other people for the same cost. I think the Fender is a much superior value and more versatile.

I bought this small amp so I could very easily carry it anyplace. The effects are built in so I just choose it up and go. It has a wonderful variety of sounds that you can get from it. All the FX amps sound sweet and so does this a single. It is superb for just kicking back and pickin’ when substantial volume is not that important but good sound is. It really is a Marshall, you will not be disappointed.

When I felt how light this amp is, I was not anticipating much, but once plugged in, I was delighted by the clarity and lack of noise or distortion of this small treasure. The chorus, which I did not expect to use (becoming an acoustic purist) is absolutely gorgeous and will be employed on some pieces. The reverb, as well, is very all-natural sounding. &#13
If the amp did not have a looper, I would still have bought it, but I was also stunned and impressed by the looper’s quality. The automatic commence has zero latency, and the sound is exactly what you hear from the amp in normal mode. It will be enjoyable to use this for improvised layering on gigs. I am purchasing a double foot pedal on e-bay: this is vital for live use, or any time you have a guitar in your hands.&#13
I bought this device due to the fact I occasionally need to play outdoors, away from energy: I have not however tried it with batteries, so I can’t comment on its abilities in this route: apparently the power (as a result, volume) is much less, but I suspect there is not a highly effective battery-powered amp out there, and this will nearly certainly be sufficient.&#13
I connected the ‘line out’ to an ESV powered speaker, and together these units make a beautiful sound for solo acoustic playing. Effortless to set up, light to carry, and outstanding sound!&#13
It would be good if the complete variety of controls could be utilised with the ‘i-pod in’ feed, but I guess I can often get an adapter/connector to enable me to do this.&#13
I have had the amp for one particular week so far…

Sounds really great. You would not want to use it in a significant hall or something but for acoustic guitar, it carries truly nicely.

This fashionable amp talks to the country boy (or cowgirl) who comprehends twang! Beautiful Western “cowboy tooled” vinyl covering, Wheat grille cloth, and chrome corners will make guitarists want to pull on the old boots and plug in the Telecaster. The onboard backing tracks are CD-top quality loops from dozens of prime musicians with a special nod to classic and modern country, rockabilly, and Americana designs. The 100 integrated tone presets, written by pickers like Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, James Burton and more, are acceptable companions to these tracks, and guitarists will have a great time jamming with them. As with all G-DEC 3 designs, personal hookup (with cost-free Fender FUSE software) lets you custom-configure your amp. You can add, del

I was offered this amp as a birthday present. My youngsters have a limted price range. I plugged in my Guild GAD 40CE and I was pleased with the sweet crisp sound. This is not a gig worthy amp, but it sounded wonderful in the confines of my living area. Nice boom to the bass and the sustain was very extraordinary. I should admit that perfomance smart, it is as excellent as amps costing much, considerably a lot more. MY kids have been pleased and I was astonished at some significantly amp for so little expense. The eight inch speaker does a excellent occupation on reproducing the highlights of my guitar. Do not tell my guitar amp (snob) band mates. They drag amps that excess weight much more and do less. Excellent amp. I carry on to be really pleased and stunned by it’s perfomance.

For a 15 watt amp it has the sound of a a lot greater amp. I enjoy the a variety of distinct amp settings that you can get out of it. This amp has as great a sound as a tube amp I had in the 60′s. I would recommend it as a really good residence practice amp.

As far as development goes, this appeared to have been constructed solidly. The design and style itself looked really great and the features were effortless to use. However, even as a practice amp goes, this one is poor at ideal. I have been playing guitars for almost 30 many years. I have had each little thing from five watt battery powered amps to stage amps. I received this package nowadays, 1/25/10. I removed it from the box, set up, and did what any great musician does: I attempted it with no effects, no pre-amps, and nothing inline. Just a clean guitar to amp connection. At volume settings below 5 it played good and clean. When you hit five or higher, it breaks up (more as you improve the volume). It starts as a light fuzz at five, and turns to a crackle by ten. It is rated at 15 watts energy and has an 8″ 30w minimal rated speaker with a max rating of 125 watts. Even though this tends to make it tough, it also limits sound. I am guessing that the speaker is in fact also much for the amp circuit to drive, but I could be wrong. Sadly, my son’s 10 watt fender squier practice amp overpowered this amp. With the Behringer set to 10 on the primary volume and 10 on the drive, the little tiny Squier ten watt amp overpowered it whilst the Squier was set to 3, with out the drive on.&#13

To make matters worse, I could truly speak a lot more loudly than the amp. Granted, this is only a practice amp and it truly should not be in a position to rattle the windows, and that is fine. But it must be ready to at least keep up with a ten watt amp. My son likes to play with me, and I was hoping that this would make a nice match for his practice amp so I would not have to ramp down all my equipment to retain him in hearing range. Regrettably (once more) this amp was not even able to do that.&#13

I then tested this with my most easy pedals, and then eventually with my RP350 multi-effects pedal. ANY sort of impact I tried just triggered the speaker to give up the ghost. The speaker is so unresponsive that distortion brought on it to lose sounds left correct and center. If I attempted to play a basic blues solo, I’d shed about each other note due to the speaker not becoming capable to preserve up with the sounds getting produced.&#13

For this reason, I’d in no way advise this amp to everyone but a kid with a affordable guitar who can’t play far more than “Mary Had a Little Lamb.” (And I do not mean SRV’s version)&#13

I did not even bother to try it with my mic for vocals simply because there was merely no point.&#13

If the business that creates it can get it to at least equal the power of most other 15 watt practice amps, they will have a wonderful piece of equipment on their hands. The cabinet was sound, the controls worked smoothly, practically nothing was loose or rattling. It really is in fact quite enticing hunting. It has a “modern-day” really feel to it with a much more classic look.
